Children’s Parliament was part of a UK-wide programme exploring what it takes to successfully replicate evidence-based programmes that reduce the likelihood of young people offending.
As part of the Big Lottery’s Realising Ambition programme, Children’s Parliament worked with over 1,200 children, helping them to understand their rights and to increase their voice.
At the heart of the work was a challenging and inspiring creative arts programme involving the creation of a papier mâché model by each participating child. The process was designed to support children to develop their life skills, build their aspirations for the future and develop their sense of wellbeing.
The final project report summarises the outcomes of this programme and brings to life the work of the children through a series of films that form part of this report. Throughout the programme 3 key outcomes for participants were evidenced:
1.Improved peer relationships
2.Increased emotional wellbeing
3.Increased engagement in learning
The following playlist showcases 9 films that explore the Children’s Parliament Realising Ambition project.
