The National Performance Framework is Scotland’s wellbeing framework and sets the vision for the nation we want to be. These National Outcomes must be reviewed every five years, to ensure that they continue to articulate the vision and ambition we have.
To ensure that all aspects of wellbeing of children up to the age of 14 are considered in the National Outcomes, Children’s Parliament was asked to reflect on our work to help ensure our National Outcomes have relevance in terms of the wellbeing of children.
The review of Children’s Parliament’s work looked at 47 projects and programmes between 2018 and 2023. As a result, we comment across 10 of the 11 National Outcomes as currently expressed, highlighting what we know from children’s lived experience as well as their hopes and ambitions for their own childhoods and those of future generations.
