Children’s Parliament was commissioned by Family Law Committee to engage directly with children to explore their views on the draft F9 Forms and to gather feedback to ensure that the forms were appropriate, understandable and child-friendly.
In 2015, the Scottish Government produced a paper to the Family Law Committee of the Scottish Civil Justice Council that outlined issues, outcomes and potential changes to hearing the voice of the child in family court cases. As a result of this paper, the Family Law Committee has undertaken steps to respond to specific points raised, including an initial consultation on the F9 forms used to gather children’s views.
