Welcoming our new trustees

Children’s Parliament is delighted to announce that four new Trustees have joined us, as we continue to deliver our mission to inspire greater awareness and understanding of the power of children’s human rights and to support implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Amy Hanna is a Lecturer in Children’s Studies at the University of Galway. Amy’s academic interests include how children’s rights are implemented in schools and how professionals and children view human rights.  Amy has previously worked with Children’s Parliament looking at how children’s human rights are realised in Scottish schools, following the introduction of the UNCRC.

Jack McClymont is a Principal Teacher of Pastoral Support (Guidance) at Kilwinning Academy in North Ayrshire and is a former Member of Children’s Parliament (MCP). Jack is looking forward to contributing his experience both as an MCP and as a Principal Teacher working in the Scottish Education system.

John Loughton BEM is a social entrepreneur and campaigner who is CEO of Dare2Lead, and Founder Chair of Scran Academy. John is a former Chair of the Scottish Youth Parliament and has extensive experience of advocating for the rights of children and young people, including as a Trustee of The Robertson Trust, Scotland’s largest independent funder.

Scott Black is co-founder and Director of executive search and leadership advisory consultancy FWB. Scott is passionate about helping children realise their potential and he brings with him extensive experience of running businesses and of volunteering as a trustee.

We are delighted to have the skills, experiences and commitment of our new trustees, and our whole board too, as we drive forward with our dream that children grow up in a world of love, happiness and understanding.
